In an intriguing match between two historically significant Swedish clubs, Malmö FF and GAIS showcased their talents in a game that was intense and tactically challenging (1-1 the final result).
GAIS, coached by Alexander Andersson in a 4-3-3 formation, got off to a very strong start dominating the beginning of the match with strong physical duels and high pressure making it difficult for Malmö to find their usual fluidity and rhythm. GAIS capitalized on their pressure with a penalty to take a 1-0 lead in the 2nd half.
Malmö FF, led by the two co-coaches Simon Christensen (ex U21 player at Landskrona BoIS) and Per-Ola Lindkvist, played in a 3-5-2 formation occasionally switching to a 4-4-2. Malmö managed to step it up in the middle of the second half, leading to their 1-1 draw. Malmö’s adjustment in tactics midway through the second half showed their resilience and adaptability, allowing them to secure a point from the match.
Interesting to notice Malmö offensive shape in the build up which created a ‘box’ of four players in midfield (as by image below).

Best potential players?
Denis Krisovic (GAIS), centre-back born in 2007.
Denis had a solid game, contributing effectively both defensively and offensively. His performance in tackling and clearances was noteworthy, providing a backbone for GAIS defense.
Vincent Nordh (GAIS), central midfielder born in 2007.
Vincent scored from the penalty spot and displayed a strong mentality. He was not always the center of attention but showed an all-around solid performance, effectively supporting both the attack and defense.
Noah Johansson (GAIS), right-back born in 2009.
Substituted in as a right-back, Noah excelled in defensive stability and build-up play. His high percentage of successful passes and actions, along with good positional play, suggest a promising future in first-team football.
James Policarpio (Malmö FF), striker born in 2008.
Policarpio was instrumental in breaking Malmö stagnant tempo. He created dangerous opportunities and maintained stability throughout the match, showing his ability to change the pace when needed.
To FOLLOW also GAIS left-back Samuel Nordlund (2007); and Malmö FF striker Filip Nilsson (2008).
