1. Division (Denmark) – AC Horsens vs Middelfart Boldklub

Nordstern Arena Horsens (Denmark). AC Horsens faced newly promoted team Middelfart Boldklub in the Matchday 4 of Danish 1. Division (officially known as Betinia Liga) season 2025/2026. The home side has collected all the three points at the end, by the final score of 2-0.

AC Horsens, third placed team of the previous 1. Division season (2024/2025), has started the new competition with one win (2-1 against Kolding IF at home) and two goalless draws (vs Aarhus Fremad and Hvidovre IF); while Middelfart Boldklub on the guests’ side, as silver medalists of the 2024/2025 Danish 2. Division (third tier), has collected one point in its first three league clashes – in the opposition of Hobro IK (0-0 away).

AC Horsens, led by David Nielsen (who already won the competition as manager of Lyngby BK back in season 2015/2016), started the match in 3-4-2-1 formation, which was often changed to a 5-4-1 shape in defending / out of possession. They demonstrated fairly quick offensive build-up, even with swift one-touch passes. The increased pressing on the opposition defense was continuous, by heavily attacking their box. The team’s great ability to regain the possession with immediate effect (even on the guests’ side) also should be highlighted, in addition to the likable team character and mentality, to continue to challenge the opposition back-line despite they already had a two goals lead.

Middelfart Boldklub, under the guidance of Kim Engstrøm, opted for a 5-4-1 formation both in & out of possession (as you can see below). Central midfielders Jonas Villemoes and Ugandan Robert Kakeeto were often visible in the Number 6 positions, so the shape often looked like a 5-4-1 (double 6). Experienced Mads Greve (CB) came up as the leader of the back-line, with performing several great defensive actions. Their build-up tactic was based mainly on short passes, and the back-line turned to be well-organized. The coach offered ‘new pulse’ to the team’s fluidity by sending Albanian-Danish left midfielder Bardhec Bytyqi and newly signed French-Ivorian striker Aaron Akalé to the pitch in the second half.

Sebastian Pingel (striker of AC Horsens) and Jacob Vetter (right centre-back of Middelfart Boldklub) both made supportive attempts by long throw-ins.

AC Horsens won the game over Middelfart Boldklub by two goals, both by balls bounced back off the away team’s goalkeeper Casper Radza; ACH’s Sebastian Pingel has reacted well and quickly in both cases, and with his double, the home side secured the win by the final score 2-0.
