Color Line Stadion (Ålesund, Norway). Aalesunds FK met Odds BK in the Matchday 12 of Norwegian 1. divisjon. The clash ended with a narrow one-goal home win, by a late decisive hit (1-0).

As both Aalesunds FK and Odds BK have significant past in the highest tier of the Norwegian club football pyramid (Eliteserien), it was expected before the match that we will see a tense and tough clash. AaFK has collected five points in its last five league matches, while Odds BK on the guests’ side was on a better run with its eight collected points in the previous five 1. divisjon games.
Aalesunds FK, led by the former Norwegian international player Kjetil Rekdal (who has played for Borussia Mönchengladbach, Stade Rennais FC and Hertha BSC, among others), started this encounter in 3-5-2 formation, which was a 5-3-2 shape when they were out of possession. Experienced Sten Grytebust‘s presence on the line was an important factor in this more important win, by demonstrating superb and confident goalkeeping performance. Marius Andresen‘s (who played as right midfielder) long-throwing ability turned to be quite promising, and can be a great tactical element also in the forthcoming matches.
Odds BK, coached by Knut Rønningene (former Mjøndalen IF footballer, with good second tier experience), opted for a 4-3-3 formation. Their build-up play / tactic was based on swift short passes; Rafik Zekhnini‘s (as LW) and young Oliver Jordan Hagen‘s (as RW) dynamic play and presence on the flanks meant to be fairly useful and promising, so the players often focused on to lead the attacks from these areas. Odds BK was much more initiative in the second part of the match, as they tried to practice dominance on AaFK. Like Grytebust on the opposition side, goalkeeper André Hansen also demonstrated exceptional performance, by making several important saves and (shot) blocks.

AaFK collected all the three points over Odds BK by a late decisive goal, which came up in the 86th minute, when local born Norway U20 international player Henrik Melland (who was substituted on in the 60th minute) found the net by his right-footed volley, from outside of the opposition box (1-0).
