Back to March, when FC Tallinn had faceoff against FC Nõmme United in the Lasnamäe Spordikompleks (Tallinn, Estonia), in the opening round of Esiliiga season 2025. The game ended with a promising 1-2 win for the away team.

FC Tallinn on the home side, led by Andrei Kalimullin, finished in mid-table back in the previous Esiliiga competition (5th of 10). In this clash, the coach opted for a 4-4-2 formation, with focusing on making shooting efforts from various spots, even from longer distances. The long throw-ins of right-back Matvei Jekimov also served the offense, in addition to make trouble inside the opposition defense.

The coach sent his players onto the pitch in his preferred formation (3-4-2-1); the build-up tactic was operated with ball-playing centre-backs, and team captain Andre Frolov (in deep-lying playmaker role) was the one, who made the connection between the defensive line and the midfield.

FC Nõmme United took the lead in the 19th minute, when 2007 born Lars Ossep scored with the assist of Samuel Merilai (0-1). In the 54th minute of play, Vadim Aksjonov (FC Tallinn) equalized the score, by his brilliant right-footed shot (1-1). Eleven minutes later, after a great ball winning and key pass of Karl Gustav Kokka, Gambian striker Ousman Ceesay took the lead for his team FC Nõmme United again – which turned to be the game’s final and decisive hit (1-2).

After twelve league matches of the Esiliiga season 2025, FC Nõmme United is on the top of the table with 31 points collected, while FC Tallinn is looking forward to the next round from the 7th position, with its 10 points.
