Vångavallen (Trelleborg, Sweden). Trelleborgs FF played against Varbergs BoIS in Matchday 5 of the Swedish Superettan season 2025. The exciting and high-scoring clash ended with the win of the guest team (0-4).

While Varbergs BoIS on the away side won its previous league match against newly promoted Umeå FC by four goals (4-0 at home), Trelleborgs FF lost its game vs IK Brage (0-1) in TFF’s home stadium Vångavallen – so there was no other plan but to fight back and to give good result for the supporters.

Trelleborgs FF, coached by Stefan Jacobsson, opted for a 4-3-3 formation, which was changed to a 3-defender shape for the second half. They played with offensive minded and supportive full-backs/wing-backs (especially with North Macedonian-Swedish left-back Eren Alievski), and conscious and convincing offensive play was demonstrated, starting from the build up phase, through the entire game, even when they were one or more goals down.

Varbergs BoIS, under the guidance of Roar Hansen, also decided to play in 4-3-3 system. The good team play and the high level of team cohesion should be mentioned as the current Varbergs BoIS main characteristics; the long throw-ins of team captain Gustav Broman (who scored a brilliant backheel goal in the end of the first half) were also for the serve of the offense. The massive strength of the midfield (thanks to main playmakers Olle Edlund and Kosovar-Swedish Erion Sadiku) and the top goalkeeping performance (Fredrik Andersson) played the key roles in this big difference win, with no goals conceded.

The away team Varbergs BoIS took the lead in the 9th minute, with the goal of right winger Oliver Alfonsi (0-1). Alfonsi found the net again few minutes later (24th minute), while team captain Gustav Broman also scored a goal, in the extra-time of the first half (0-2 & 0-3). The final hit came up in the 75th minute, by a great right-footed volley of Olle Edlund (0-4).
