Randers FC won an exciting dispute over Brøndby (3-2 the final result) by scoring two out of their three goals on set pieces. Both teams fielded players who are ready for a transition in senior football (1st division) from next summer and younger talents who have even higher potential.
Randers FC, coached by Christian Hansen in a 1-4-4-2 formation showed great maturity throughout the match and clear principles in all phases of play. When restarting the play from goal-kicks they often played long towards their tall striker Andersen directly from their goalkeeper Henriksen. Their midfielders interchanged their position at times to loose their markers and pick up the 2nd balls coming off the aerial duels (see image below).

They were very dangerous on counterattacks. Indeed their second goal and their biggest chances came from quick transitions after regaining possession in their own half.
Brøndby, coached by Jesper P. Christiansen also in a 1-4-4-2 formation presented an interesting positioning of their wingers who often moved inside the pitch in their build up phase to give options between the lines and to create space for the full-backs on the outside (see image below).

They used a man-marking approach on defensive goal-kicks and were challenged by the opposition direct play. In the image below you can see their right-back getting dragged out of shape and the spaces available to Randers following the duels.
