Bocskai Stadion (Hajdúszoboszló, Hungary). Thrilling U19 international encounter between Denmark and Iceland, in the UEFA European U19 Championship qualification Elite round – which ended with a 2-0 win for the Danes.

Denmark, led by Lasse Stensgaard, played a highly confident and determined football in 4-3-3 formation, in the mixture of the Dutch possession style, the German type pressing and a little bit of ‘typical’ Danish football. Iceland on the opposition side, coached by Þórhallur Siggeirsson, started the game in 4-4-2 shape; they had lower tempo but more control, also with significant confidence in play.

Here the players who stood out in this match:
Lukas Larsen (Denmark / Brøndby IF), left-back born 2006.
Lukas is a player for Brøndby IF U19/U21. Judging this game as an isolated matter, he was the MVP for me; had great runs, demonstrated excellent passing combinations, reacted properly when the team lost the possession and he was tactically aware of falling back or go to instant pressure.
Mikel Gogorza (Denmark / FC Midtjylland), centre-forward born 2006.
Mikel had a good and solid game; his positional play and off the ball movements were excellent, and made many progressive runs to open spaces, to weaken Iceland’s defense.
Davíd Helgi Aronsson (Iceland / Víkingur Reykjavík), defender born 2007.
Davíd Helgi plays in his country, for Víkingur Reykjavík. All-rounder player, who demonstrated highly qualified skills. Should be in the radar of top clubs in competitive European leagues, a potential move in the summer can happen.
Daniel Jóhannesson (Iceland / FC Nordsjælland), winger born 2007.
Daniel, youth player of FC Nordsjælland in Denmark, faced some of his club teammates in this clash. Regarding his abilities and technical readiness, he can be described as a highly gifted one, also with a potential move in the forthcoming summer.
To FOLLOW also Denmark defender (and team captain) Cornelius Olsson (2006, Torino Primavera), defensive midfielder Justin Janssen (2006, FC Nordsjælland) and defender Markus Walker (2006, FC Nordsjælland); and Iceland left winger Galdur Guðmundsson (2006, AC Horsens).
