In a match where both teams showcased great build up strategies and were able to progress with the ball through the thirds effectively, OB won the match by regaining the ball in the opposition penalty box before scoring the decisive goal of the match (0-1 the final result).
Vejle, coached by Mads Nissen in a 1-4-3-3 formation, used their left central midfielder Lykkebak to occupy the space between the opposition back four and midfield and connect the play (as illustrated in the image below). Their left winger Pedersen was also often positioned in their left half-space when building up by creating an overload against the opposition midfield three (4v3).

OB, coached by Ivan Poulsen in a 1-4-2-3-1 formation (in open play), modified their offensive structure on goal-kicks and used their goalkeeper Eskildsen, to ‘delay’ the opposition high pressure after the first pass (see image below).

They also created effective overloads (2v1) in the final third, especially on their right flank with their right winger Grymer and their overlapping right full-back Magnus Andersen against the opposition left-back (see image below).
