U19 Ligaen (Denmark) – F.C. København vs AGF

In Frederiksberg Idrætspark in an enjoyable match with many chances, AGF secured the 3 points (1-3 the final result). Many ‘standout’ individual performances and great talent in both teams!

FCK coached by Morten Bisgaard in a 4-4-2 formation used often their two strikers to ‘attract’ their opponents out of position but AGF was well-coordinated in covering their defenders pushing up.

Out of possession they used an interesting asymmetric approach by sending their right full-back up to ‘lock’ onto the opposition left wing-back.

AGF coached by Niki Zimling in a 3-5-2 formation created their biggest chances by regaining the ball in the opposition half or by switching the play to overload the opposition full-backs (as in the image below).

In this article we will describe more in details only one player per team who ‘stood out’ in this match (if you are interested in finding out about the other talents in this game you can buy our full match report):

Abdul Daramy (FCK), left winger born 2008.

Abdul is a fast inverted winger (right footed) with great attacking 1v1 skills. He is unpredictable when facing his opponents due to his ability to accelerate into space with the ball using both sides. He demonstrated also good vision when he set up his team mates with precise flat passes into the penalty box to create scoring opportunities. Good quality also when crossing, especially with his dominant foot (inswing). Made the assist for his team only goal by delivering a precise inswinging ball from corner.

Abdul speed and physical attributes makes me believe that he is ready for Superliga despite of his age. His potential is huge and what he showed on the ball in this match is a great sign of future success at the highest level, as the Premier League is at the moment.

Christian Storch (AGF), right centre-back born 2008.

Christian is a tall and brave centre-back with good game intelligence. He was able to step forward to intercept the opposition progressive passes but also to drop to clear long balls with his head. He had a great defensive action when he cleared the box from a dangerous early cross when the result was still 0-1. Aggressive and agile when breaking the line to press his opponents and fast in turning. Strong in marking on crosses. Found often the right solutions on the ball when under pressure, showing good weight and direction in his passes. At times he took risks by playing forward through the center and conceded turnovers. Supported the attack by overlapping his side wing-back showing good speed over long distances.

Christian is a great prospect for AGF style of play. His desire and drive to go forward reflects the Clubs ambition, therefore I see him progressing at fast pace (1-2 years) towards the first team setup.
