In a very competitive match AGF won the dispute (4-1) after OB went in front with a precise shot of Kjerrumgaard. Both teams showcased great talent in their ranks and a high level of tactical organization.
AGF, coached by Uwe Rösler, in a 3-4-3 formation was very compact defensively in their medium block and forced the opponents to play wide to press intensively with their wing-backs against the opposition full-backs (see image below).

OB, coached Søren Krogh in a 4-4-2 (diamond) formation, found difficult to match the opposition in their build up in the first half leaving space for the opponents to progress. Challenging for them was to pick up Arnstad (see image below) behind their front three line when Martin (OFM) moved up to press the opposition centre-back Dalsgaard.

On the contrary, the team from Funen was very good at using the ‘third man’ to beat the opposition high pressure (see image below).

A 2-2 draw in the ‘match of potential players’!
Jacob Andersen (AGF), right wing-back born 2004.
Jacob shows great maturity on the pitch for his age. He was outstanding in the first goal scored by AGF when he outrun his direct opponent Sørensen in a fast counterattack before playing an early cross for Bech to tap-in (1-1). He also demonstrated good composure when he controlled the ball with his chest before shooting with his left foot in the far bottom corner for his team to go ahead (2-1). Good vision and playmaking skills and can cross with his left foot by using inswinging trajectories; defensively he is able to intercept the opposition forward passes both when pressing and when recovering in defensive transitions.
Jacob who is also a starter in the Danish U21 National team is a prospect who can be interesting for many Clubs in the ‘Top 5 leagues’. We wish him a quick recovery and to come back even stronger from the injury he had in the preseason training camp in Spain.
Frederik Emmery (AGF), left winger born 2006.
Frederik was confident in running with the ball to beat his opponents although he had a hard opponent to beat in Owusu. He attacked the back space without the ball with well-timed runs and showed the ability to find space between the opposition defensive lines.
Frederik is an interesting type of winger who combines speed with great close ball control. We see him making his debut in Superliga with the first team by this summer. To go even further decisive will be his ability/potential to gain muscle mass and power.
Julius Berthel Askou (OB), centre-back born 2006.
Julius showed good confidence on the ball, using precise progressive passes with both feet. Excellent body preparation before receiving the ball. Defensively good positioning to track his opponents runs in the back space and cover his team mates or to play them off-side.
Now that Tobias Slotsager has been sold to Verona in Serie A as we had foreseen (read this previous article), Julius chances to get regular playing time in the first team increase hand in hand with his readiness.
William Martin (OB), offensive midfielder born 2007.
William is an offensive midfielder with a wide range of skills. He had a chance to score in the first half by heading a ball crossed by Owusu in the first half after entering the opposition penalty box unmarked with great timing. He made also a great run from deep in the second half which was stopped by a foul by Tingager before he could turn into a chance. He is always looking for pockets of space to receive between the lines. And when receiving under pressure he can protect the ball and use his excellent close ball control to get out of tight areas. He shows also great confidence and responsibility by taking direct free-kicks for his team.
William potential is massive. Check this previous article to read where which league would fit him the most in his next step.
