In an exciting and well-played friendly match, Finland won over Denmark by scoring two goals in extra time (1-2 the final result).

Denmark, coached by Morten Eskesen, played in a 4-3-3 formation with a dynamic and offensively-minded midfield that was often in possession of the ball. Denmark was good at applying high pressure when they didn’t have the ball, especially with their aggressive wingers and Denmark was very comfortable with passing the ball around until they create a chance, especially with quick switches of play.

Finland, coached by Peter Lundberg, played in a 4-3-3 formation with aggressive pressing on the opponent throughout the game, their goalkeeper often started the build-up play with a precise pass to the full-back or winger. Finland was solid in their defensive structure, has skilled players on the ball, and is quick in their transitions.

The match started at a high tempo with plenty of duels. Throughout most of the game, Denmark had possession of the ball and created several chances, while Finland remained defensively solid, quick and dangerous in their transitions. In the first half, Denmark won a penalty which Chidozie Obi missed, but 2 minutes later, Chidozie Obi made it 1-0 with a great goal. In extra time, Finland scored twice from quick transitions, by two players who came onto the field after 61 minutes. First, the equalizing goal by Sonosi Daldum after a Danish corner kick, and right after that, Djoully Nzoko scored to make it 2-1, which was the final result of the match.

Noah Hovgaard Lassen: (Denmark/OB), central midfielder born 2007.
Noah plays in central midfield and is a player with a high technical level. He is good at passing, especially short passes, and constantly dictates the tempo for Denmark, which ensures the ball/team is always in motion and makes it difficult for the opponents. He has a good understanding of the game, with an excellent sense of what passes to make and when, making him a skilled playmaker. Noah also takes responsibility in the defensive part of the game, is strong in positioning, and is not afraid to engage in duels.
Mads Samson: (Denmark/Aab), centre-back born 2007.
Mads plays as a center-back in a 4-man defensive line for Denmark. Mads is left-footed, has good technique, and is excellent at positioning himself in the defensive part of the game. He is good at reading the game and often interrupted the opponent’s attacks by getting to the ball first or winning it back. Mads is a good passer, both with the often simple passes and also delivers some really nice diagonal balls when a switch of play is needed. He is very calm with the ball and strong in aerial duels.
Jere Kari: (Finland/HJK Helsinki), centre-back born 2007.
Jere plays in central defense for Finland in a 4-man defensive line. Jere was the captain in this match and is a clear leader on the field. Jere is a fearless, strong player who doesn’t hold back and is involved in many duels, often as the winner. He is good at positioning himself on the field, is a skilled passer who often chooses the safe option, and is calm and composed with the ball. Jere has a great ability to read the game and frequently interrupts the opponent’s build-up play, allowing his team to quickly transition.
Osku Maukonen: (Finland/FC Lahti), goalkeeper born 2007.
Osku is a 1.85 cm tall goalkeeper who plays for Finland. Osku is a very good passer and participates a lot in Finland’s build-up play, with a good sense of the game. He almost always makes the right decisions with the passes he delivers to his teammates and plays some excellent long balls. He made several very assured interventions in this match, including some great saves, and saved a penalty in the first half.
To FOLLOW also Denmark/OB winger William Christian Martin (2007), Finland/Genk winger Djoully Nzoko (2007), and Finland/KuPS attacking midfielder Eemil Tanninen (2007). It would be too easy to predict a great career for the U18 Danish National team and Manchester United striker Chidozie Obi-Martin at this point in time.
