Odense BK won by four goals over Åsane Fotball, in a U17 Scandinavian Championship game.

Odense BK‘s youth team delivered a strong performance against Åsane Fotball‘s youngsters in the U17 Scandinavian Championship, securing an impressive 4-0 win. The Danish side demonstrated their quality across all areas of the pitch, overwhelming their Norwegian counterparts and consolidating their reputation as one of the strongest youth teams in the region.
Nicolas Hedeman, head coach of Odense BK, is known for his tactical acumen and focus on developing players for the senior team. Employing a 4-3-3 formation, Hedeman’s team thrives on quick ball circulation, intelligent positional play, and relentless pressing off the ball. This match was a clear example of his philosophy, as Odense controlled possession and consistently exploited gaps in Åsane’s defense. Their wingers provided width and pace, while the central midfielders dictated the tempo of the game. The fullbacks supported the attacks effectively, creating overloads on the flanks that Åsane found difficult to defend against. Odense’s compact defensive organization also ensured Åsane had minimal chances to threaten their goal.
Åsane Fotball, approached the game with a 4-1-3-2 formation. The system prioritized defensive stability through a holding midfielder, while the next line of three worked hard to support the strikers. Despite flashes of promise, Åsane struggled to match Odense’s intensity and technical precision, eventually succumbing to the Danish side’s relentless attacking pressure. Åsane’s starting setup aimed at establishing a strong central presence, with their holding midfielder shielding the defensive line. Despite their efforts to play direct and exploit the two-striker system, Åsane struggled to create clear scoring opportunities.
The best potential players:
Lucas Bryde (OB), left-back born 2008.
A standout performer in the match, Lucas Bryde was instrumental in Odense’s victory. As a central midfielder, Bryde showcased excellent vision, passing range and composure on the ball. His ability to control the tempo of the game and link defense to attack made him a key figure in Odense’s 4-0 win.
Lukas Legaard (OB), centre-forward born 2009.
Another player who caught the eyes was Lukas Legaard, a versatile and dynamic forward. Legaard’s pace, technical abilities and intelligent off-ball runs posed constant problems for Åsane’s defense. He contributed to Odense’s attacking threat with decisive dribbles and goal-scoring opportunities, proving himself as a player to watch for the future.
To FOLLOW also OB midfielders Jonathan Friis (2009) and Mads Larsen (2008); and Åsane Fotball defender Markus Aas Bergstrøm (2007) and midfielder Luka Aaker-Saldanha (2008).
