OB proved its offensive qualities (26 goals scored in 10 matches) after a good start from Randers who went in front early in the game (1-5 the final score).
Randers, coached by Christian Hansen in a 1-4-4-2 formation, started the match by taking the initiative on the ball and this led them to having most of their opportunities to score in the first 20 minutes of the match. Proactive also their approach on the opposition goal-kicks where the team set up with a diamond shape in midfield and successfully regained the ball in their attacking half (see the image below).

OB, coached by Ivan Poulsen in a 1-4-3-3 formation, was aggressive on the ball and gained momentum from playing more ‘vertically’ than their opponents. This helped them progressing quickly through the thirds and scoring their first two goals in the end of the first half (below we highlight the pass and the run which generated the first goal).

OB wins also the match of the potential players 2-4!
Abdul Hakim Sulemana (Randers FC), inverted offensive winger born in 2005.
Abdul can change speed with the ball to beat his opponents as he showed in the first goal which he assisted by chipping the ball towards the far post with his left foot (although his dominant foot is his right). Great close control and accelerations with the ball, it was difficult for the OB defenders to choose a side to shut down to stop him from creating dangerous situations. Most of Randers opportunities came out of Abdul initiative and solo play.
Abdul has already played some minutes in the first team. Playing for the U19 team is good for him to collect full matches and build trust in his skills, which need a higher challenge to develop.
Rinor Rexhepi (Randers FC), left-footed striker born in 2007.
Rinor combines a good physical structure with intelligent movements off the ball both when attacking the back space and in the opposition penalty box. He scored the first goal by ‘hiding’ on the blind side of the opposition centre-back and had one more opportunity to score with his weaker foot by finding space in front of the dropping defenders. Strong in protecting the ball by using his body and his arms, and effective in getting the ball out of his feet to shoot with power from distance.
He is physically and tactically ready for a higher challenge. A loan in 1st or 2nd division can help him to prove that he can score goals also at first team level.
Gustav Wulff (OB), central midfielder born in 2007.
Gustav performance was outstanding! He demonstrated great awareness and vision and was very precise in his passes, both over short and longer distances. His ability to see ‘openings’ in the opposition defensive structure and to ‘weight’ his passes created the circumstances for the first (assist) and the last goal of the match (assist for penalty). He was effective also in his defensive play and regained the ball by tackling or intercepting. Although he is a tall player he has good mobility both with and without the ball.
Gustav would greatly gain by an OB early promotion back to Superliga. Getting experience already this season in 1st division would speed up his development and give him the chance to become a candidate for a spot in the first team midfield next season.
Viktor Bender (OB), offensive midfielder born in 2007.
Viktor offensive skills was impressive! He started and finished the attack for the 2nd goal with a powerful shot from outside the penalty box after receiving the ball from the goalkeeper just outside his own box. He was in ‘flow’ with the ball at his feet and found his team mates with precise long passes. Great spatial awareness and supporting runs & angles, good receiving skills.
Viktor has all attributes of a modern box-to-box midfielder and has the potential to be playing at Superliga level within the next two years.
Tobias Elnegaard (OB), goalkeeper born in 2008.
Tobias game reading is advanced for his age. He can predict how the play develops and come off the line to claim crosses showing agility and bravery. He communicated constantly with his team mates to organize the defense and the build up. Tobias showed also great passing skills in the start of the match when he played a precise long ball in the back space creating a dangerous attack.
By playing for 1-2 more seasons at U19 level he can become even more mature on the ball and prepare for his transition into the first team.
Elvar Petersen (OB), striker born in 2006.
Elvar is a target player strong in physical and aerial duels and with a good basic technique. He can set the ball to his team mates by using different surfaces while protecting the ball from his opponents. He made good decisions on the ball and created a big chance with an early cross for his team mate. Good movements in the penalty box to find space to shoot.
Elvar is ready to transition in first team football. A loan in 1st or 2nd division in the second half of this season can help him increase his intensity in the pressure and speed of actions.
To FOLLOW also Randers midfielder Max Albaek (2006) and left-back Frederik Konstmann (2007); and OB centre-back Daniel Amtrup (2006), midfielder Noah Lassen (2007) and wingers Hjalte Rasmussen & Mads Abrahamsen (both born in 2007).
