U17 Allsvenskan (Sweden) – BK Häcken vs IK Sirius

Two progressive clubs in Sweden, renowned for their use of technology and international inspiration met in an exciting match. Both teams are known for their playing styles that focus on short passes and quick combinations to progress through the middle of the pitch.

Häcken, coached by Patrik Karlsson Lagemyr, played in a 4-2-3-1 formation. They tried to attack mainly through the center and used interchanges in possession to create space in a ‘Dutch style’. They looked more physically dominant than their opponents and used a more direct play at times.

While Sirius, well-known in Sweden for their possession based style, played in a 4-3-3 formation when having the ball. Out of possession the team coached by Wilhelm Westergren pressed in a 4-4-2 formation to match the opposition with a man-marking approach (in the image below we highlight the right centre-back stepping up to lock onto the opposition offensive midfielder).

It was a match full of good individual performances, but I will now focus on the players with the biggest potential in my eyes! 2 players from each team.

Oskar Palm (IK Sirius), striker born in 2007.

Scored 2 goals for Sirius and showed that he can be very dangerous in the final third. Excellent control in and around the box, a player with the ‘X factor’ who would help any team.

Hugo Blomster (IK Sirius), midfielder born in 2007.

Well-rounded midfielder and in my opinion the best player on the pitch, really good vision and passes. Great performance both offensively and defensively. Fast thinking, good ball control and vision. I am really impressed by the way he reacted to ball losses and by how quickly he recovered to protect the central zone of the pitch. A great team player with good game reading.

Abdisamed Abdi (BK Häcken), winger born in 2010.

In my opinion the best player for Häcken in this match! A good creative attacker with an offensive and aggressive mindset, good vision and confidence with the ball. He made effective decisions in the final third and had a positive attitude throughout the match. He was always looking to attack, scored a goal and made an assist. Definitely an interesting player to follow in the future.

Filip Öhman (BK Häcken), centre-back born in 2008.

Strong in build-up play with good vision and positioning, effective in defending 1v1. I consider him as an international type of centre-back and a good potential player.

To FOLLOW also IK Sirius winger Munahser Muhamod and BK Häcken midfielder Max Runbäck both born in 2008.
