A last-minute goal scored by William Martin decided the match between OB and AaB (1-0) in a match full of opportunities for both sides!
OB coached by Ivan Poulsen dominated the first half and missed a penalty in the 3rd minute of the match. AaB coached by Peter Løvenkrands had their biggest chances in the 2nd half but captain McCoy with his last ditch defending and goalkeeper Eskildsen with his reflexes stopped the opposition forwards from scoring.
OB in 4-3-3 versus AaB in 4-4-2. OB successful in high pressing especially in the first half by using a man-marking strategy (as you can see in the image below where one of the two CBs Juel follows the opposition midfielder Holt way above the halfway line).

2-2 on the scoreboard for best potential players!
Julius Berthel Askou (OB), centre-back born in 2006.
Julius showed high quality on the ball with precise and well-paced passes both on the ground and over long distances and was comfortable under pressure. Defensively he was well positioned to intercept crosses and long balls. He was a constant threat on offensive corners thanks to his bravery and timing in his headers.
Julius is the right prospect to replace Tobias Slotsager should the first team profile be sold.
Théo Hansen (OB), tall midfielder born in 2005.
Théo was a strong presence in midfield (click here for previous article on OB). He tackled hard and forced his opponents in ball losses with his physical challenges. Also on the ball he showed good vision and accuracy in long passing. Good timing when running from deep.
One season on loan to get regular playing time would help him speeding up his game and compete for a first team spot.
Malthe Kjølby (AaB), centre-back born in 2006.
Power and pace! Not common qualities in a central defender. This is why once again (click here for previous article on AaB) I see Malthe as a great potential player. Defensively he was able to read when to drop to intercept passes over the defensive line and when to press his opponents. Strong in aerial and ground duels.
A ‘smooth’ transition between the U19 and the Superligaen squad next season can help him developing on the ball under pressure and prepare him for senior football.
Victor Fjeldgaard (AaB), striker born in 2007.
Victor was able to hold the ball up and set his team mates up with precise passes both when receiving low and high passes. He also demonstrated the ability to turn between the lines and to attack 1v1. His dynamism allowed him to challenge the opposition defensive line also by running in behind. Victor had two big chances in the 2nd half on his weaker side which he should have converted into goals.
One more season playing and scoring regularly in U19 Ligaen will prepare him for first team football.
To FOLLOW also OB central midfielder Vitus Friis and striker William Martin, both born in 2007.
