This round we focus on two teams, Lyseng and AB, with their first teams respectively competing in 3rd and 2nd division. Not many scouts would stand with their umbrella watching this match played under heavy rain.

Lyseng, a ‘physical team’ coached by Hakan Basel which escaped AB high pressure in the start of the game (see picture above) and won the game by scoring 2 goals in 5 mins in the 2nd half.

AB led by coach Anders Mortensen lacked offensive power up front and tried to recover the game by bringing Lindgaard (first team player) and Jakupi (10 goals already this season) in the last 30 mins but could not score.

The attention this time goes to one player, Lyseng right winger Nikolaj Bregenov!

Nikolaj Bregenov (IF Lyseng), left footed inverted winger born in 2005 with a past in Randers FC U19.

Nikolaj who has already scored 21 goals in 26 games is a special type of offensive winger. Tall stature and long legs, soft touch and flair typical of shorter players. Unpredictable when dribbling, great vision and passing accuracy. Speed not his best asset but considering his size not his weakness neither. Nikolaj could ‘pause’ his opponents when attacking 1v1 and lift his head to assess the best options. When not served precisely he demanded better standards from his team mates. Out of possession at times he saved energy but in a calculated way.

It would be very interesting to see him playing as nr 8 or 10 to assess if his skills could be transferred in a different playing style. Regardless of the position one season as a regular starter in Lyseng first team could give him the platform to develop even further and define his potential. My guess is that it is not going to take long before we see him in higher leagues.

To FOLLOW also Lyseng defensive midfielder Alexander Hansen and striker William Rygaard; and AB offensive winger Tekin Abdulovski together with the already mentioned Lindgaard and Jakupi.
