U19 Ligaen (Denmark) – Lyngby vs OB

Eyes on Lyngby U19 this time in their last game played vs OB in Lyngby Stadion where not long time ago the first team managed to secure their stay in Superliga.

A match without many chances from both sides where the team led by coach Piotr Haren had one of their best opportunities with Langhoff after a well-coordinated throw-in routine aimed at creating space for the central midfielder to receive in the penalty box (see picture above).

Interesting solution adopted by OB coach Ivan Poulsen in the first part of the game when his team pressed high on goal-kicks by man-marking their opponents (see Amtrup – nr 22 – following Secka way below the half-way line in the picture below).

The best potential players of the match are 3, all to be found in the Lyngby squad!

Mathias Kaarsbo (Lyngby), box-to-box midfielder born in 2006.

Mathias is able to combine a high technical level on the ball both in passing and dribbling (left footed) with a good ‘engine’ and aggressiveness in duels. Exciting to see him playing a precise pass for Secka over the opposition defensive line and then to immediately conquer the ball in the following transition by intercepting a forward pass on the opposite side of the pitch.

In a Club like Lyngby focused on ‘launching’ new young players in the first team every year he is not far from a first team debut, perhaps in the beginning of the new season.

Anton Mayland (Lyngby), tall goalkeeper born in 2006.

Anton sizes together with his ability to distribute the ball over long distances with both feet show great potential. Decisive when he ‘freezed’ Söfeldt in the 2nd half 1v1 forcing the striker in missing a good chance.

A season on loan in 1st or 2nd division to sharpen his reading of the game (especially on crosses) could allow him to get closer to a first team role.

Kristian Jašović (Lyngby), offensive winger born in 2007 with double citizenship, Denmark and Montenegro.

Kristian close ball control in tight areas is outstanding as well as his accelerations with the ball when attacking 1v1. He showed this both in this match and in the U17 Cup final played yesterday against Brøndby when he made the assist for the 2nd goal.

The U19 Ligaen can provide a good platform for him for one more season to develop his confidence and be even more dominant over longer periods of the game.

To FOLLOW also Lyngby right-back Kean Tran and centre-back Carl-Emil Husmer; and OB midfielder Théo Hansen.
