Still in Denmark, one division below but same or higher level than the previous scouted game (Sønderjyske vs Brøndby IF). Viborg FF first in the table, against HB Køge which proves to be a talent hotbed both at first team and Academy level.
A game full of chances and emotions with Viborg winning the game after being 2-1 down until the 84th minute. Too many the chances wasted by HB Køge before Viborg ‘comeback’.
HB Køge in 3-4-1-2 in possession led by Mathias Stenstrøm Knudsen. ‘Well drilled’ their offensive solution of their offensive midfielder Babaiasl taking a deep run between the two strikers to surprise the opposition defence (as by image below).

Viborg in 1-4-3-3 formation. Lasse Broberg, Viborg head coach, adopted an asymmetric solution in the build up by pushing their RB in high position and moving RW inside to create a ‘dilemma’ for the opposition LWB and to create space on the outside. LCM moving in support of the two strikers (see below).

This time three are the players who ‘caught the eye’! One HB Køge player and two from VIborg.
Alfred Gøthler (HB Køge), striker born in 2007 who played with a natural flair which makes me think of him has a great future prospect.
Alfred was smooth and sharp in his movements both with and without the ball. He was unpredictable in 1v1 situations and able to play the last pass with high level quality. He gave good proof of his talent when he run behind the opposition high defensive line with a perfect timed run, beat the GK with a ‘sombrero’ and placed the ball into the back of the net.
By building his body structure and polishing his finishing skills he can become a top level player at first team level.
Frederik Damkjer (Viborg FF), central midfielder also born in 2007 but ahead in his physical development. A well rounded modern midfielder!
Frederik game was outstanding. He showed a great ability to retain the ball under pressure in small areas in midfield by being always aware of his surroundings. He did not limit himself in playing a ‘pivot’ role but also contributed to the offensive power of his team by running forward without the ball and by assisting his team mates as in the first goal scored by his team. His crosses and shots showed a good ball striking ability. Defensively he demonstrated good reading of the game and was ready when had to cover his team mates in important phases of the match.
He dominated the game proving to need a higher challenge than the current.
Mikkel Løndal (Viborg FF), right back born in 2006. Outrun the game from a physical point of view, top level intensity, speed, physique and capacity.
Mikkel was a constant threat for the opposition. Always supporting the attack delivering quality crosses. Good control of the ball and playmaking skills. Able to change the ‘gear’ to beat his direct opponents. Not challenged much out of possession, he would benefit by gaining better control in defensive 1v1 situations.
Definitely ready for first team football!
To FOLLOW also HB Køge midfielder Mads Rasmussen and their attacker Casper Nielsen; and Viborg goalkeeper Kasper Kiilerich (although not his best day), striker Mads Jørgensen and midfielder Carl Nygaard.
